Ricardo is a member of the Academic Counsel at Gómez-Acebo & Pombo.

He specialises in the following practice areas: competition law, commercial distribution and insurance law.

He holds a Law degree from the University of Oviedo (Spain) and a doctorate in Law from the Autonomous University of Madrid (Spain). He is Professor Emeritus of Commercial Law at the Autonomous University of Madrid and a permanent member of the General Codification Commission of the Ministry of Justice.


He has given classes and lectures in several Spanish and foreign universities such as the Universities of Externado de Bogotá (Colombia); Lima (Peru); Buenos Aires (Argentina); Matías Delgado de San Salvador (El Salvador); Trento and Pisa (Italy); and Lisbon (Portugal).

He is the author of several publications, books and articles in legal journals on insurance law, competition law, liberalization of markets and economic sectors, privatizations, commercial distribution and commercial contracts.

Luciano is a member of the Academic Counsel at Gómez-Acebo & Pombo.

He holds a Chair in Administrative Law at various universities: University of La Laguna (1983), Alcalá de Henares (1989) and since 1990 at the Carlos III University of Madrid. He is Director at the Institute Pascual Madoz on Planning, Urban Development and the Environment, and Director of the master’s programme on Planning and Urban Development Policy at the Carlos III University of Madrid. He has served as Chancellor at the International University Menéndez Pelayo 2005-2006 and Honorary Chancellor in 2008. Director-general of the Institute for Local Administration, 1983-1985; Undersecretary for the Ministry for Territorial Administration (1985-1986) and the Ministry for Public Administrations (1986-1987) and President of the National Institute for Public Administrations (1987-1989).

He has been appointed as Senior Statesman by the prestigious publication Chambers & Partners, determining that he had reached top level as a lawyer in his area, being a reference in his specialization and as Recommended Lawyer by Legal500 under Real Estate and Construction.

He has participated as author or co-author in different specialised publications.

He holds a doctorate in Law from the Complutense University of Madrid (extraordinary doctorate prize, 1972).

He is a member of the Senior Corps of Civil State Administrators (Spain) and a congressional attorney (Spain). He served as Technical General Secretary of the Ministry of Governance and Interior (Spain) from 1976 to 1979.

Fernando is a member of the Academic Counsel at Gómez-Acebo & Pombo.

He holds a degree in Law from the Complutense University of Madrid (1995) and a PhD from the same university in 2004, with a distinction cum laude and an extraordinary doctorate award. He started practising law in 1995. He has been a lecturer in Commercial Law at Complutense University of Madrid since 2017.

Fernando is the author of numerous publications in the field of directors’ liability, including the monograph that constituted his doctoral thesis The individual action for the liability of directors of capital companies: s. 135 LSA (Marcial Pons, 1995).

He has also published nearly 60 scientific articles in collective works and in specialised journals, national and international, related to company law and corporate governance (directors’ remuneration, financial assistance, convertible bonds, shareholders’ agreements, minority shareholders protection, challenging corporate resolutions, etc.) and insolvency law (subordination of credits and guilty qualification of insolvency proceedings).

Faustino is a member of the Academic Counsel at Gómez Acebo & Pombo.

Faustino Cordón holds a Law degree from the University of Navarra (1975) and a doctorate from the same university in 1977, with an outstanding cum laude qualification. He began teaching in 1980 as an assistant professor of procedural law at the University of the Balearic Islands as first of his oppositions.

In 1987, he joined the University of Alcalá de Henares as Professor of Procedural Law, where he remained until 1990 in a first stage, which he resumed in 2006 and which he currently maintains. In that intermediate period, he was dean of the University of Navarra and ordinary professor of procedural law. He also teaches courses and conferences at various European and Latin American universities and assists as a guest professor in various master’s programs.

Faustino is the author of a dozen books, among which stands out the contentious-administrative process (1999), The Implementation Process (2002), The arbitration of private law. A brief study of the new Arbitration Act 60/2001 of 23 December (2005), Arbitration and Jurisdiction: Some contentious issues (Civitas, 2010) and Comments to the Civil Procedure Act (2001).

Faustino has also published about 70 scientific articles in collective works and in specialised journals.
