GA_P advises Águas da Figueira on the concession agreement with Figueira da Foz municipality

Gómez-Acebo & Pombo advised Águas da Figueira (a joint venture between Aquapor Serviços, S.A., and AGS – Administração e Gestão de Sistemas de Salubridade), the concessionaire for Figueira da Foz’s water and sanitation system, on the negotiation of the 4th amendment to the concession agreement signed with the Figueira da Foz municipality.

This 4th amendment represents an investment of 21 million euros over 12 years by the concessionaire, extending the duration of the concession until 2042.

Also noteworthy in this deal was the position adopted by ERSAR, the sector’s regulator, which confirmed an unprecedented legal understanding regarding the application of the present law to prior water and waste service concessions.
