\n\nG\u00f3mez-Acebo & Pombo has advised the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge on the implementation of the Strategic Project for Economic Recovery and Transformation (in Spanish PERTE) for the Digitalisation of the Water Cycle, approved by the Council of Ministers on 22 March 2022.
\r\n
\r\nThis PERTE aims to upgrade the water cycle through three tools: digitalisation, innovation and training. The aim is to make water management efficient and sustainable. To achieve its objectives, this PERTE establishes four lines of action that comprehensively cover the management of the water cycle:
\r\n
\r\n1. Improving governance in the management of water uses;
\r\n
\r\n2. Promoting the digitalisation of the basin organisations;
\r\n
\r\n3. Development of aid programmes for the promotion of digitalisation for the different water users in Spain; and 4.
\r\n
\r\n4. Promotion of training and innovation in digital skills in water administration and management.
\r\n
\r\nThe Government will begin the implementation of this PERTE with the approval of an Order of subsidy bases for the development of line of action 3, “Development of aid programmes for the promotion of digitalisation for the different water users in Spain”, focused on the urban water cycle, and through which it is planned to promote a series of digitalisation programmes in municipalities with more than 20,000 inhabitants, and through which it is planned to select a series of programmes to promote digitalisation in municipalities with more than 20,000 inhabitants. The aim is to select a series of actions that will be supported by grants ranging from 3 to 10 million euros up to a total budget of 200 million euros in a first call for proposals.
