GA_P has appointed Mercedes Corbal, B\u00e1rbara Saiz de Vicu\u00f1a, Roc\u00edo Arias, Jos\u00e9 Francisco Canalejas and \u00c1lvaro Sainz as Industrial and Intellectual Property, Tax and Finance counsels respectively. The new appointments reflect the Firm’s commitment to internal talent.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

B\u00e1rbara Sainz de Vicu\u00f1a and Mercedes Corbal, both joined G\u00f3mez-Acebo & Pombo in 2007. B\u00e1rbara specialises in digital law and new technologies, e-commerce, data protection, audiovisual law and consumer law. She also has extensive experience in the retail sector. Mercedes has extensive experience in industrial property, unfair competition and advertising litigation before commercial and European Union courts. In addition, as an Industrial Property Agent, she is responsible for proceedings before the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office and the European Union Intellectual Property Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jos\u00e9 Francisco Canalejas holds a PhD in Law from the University of Castilla la Mancha. He joined the firm in 2009 and specialises in the derivatives market, financial regulation, capital markets and corporate and real estate financing. \u00c1lvaro Sainz, who joined the firm in 2010, studied an LL.M. at New York University and is qualified to practice in Spain and New York; he specialises in restructurings, direct financing, cross border financings and debt analysis and distressed debt acquisitions\/disposals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Roc\u00edo Arias, a lawyer and economist, joined the firm in 2014 and specialises in tax litigation, forming part of the team recently formed in the Tax Department to advise on tax proceedings both in the administrative phase (management and inspection) and in the judicial phase. She also provides advice on direct taxation matters for national and international groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new counsels will reinforce their areas of practice, consolidating their growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
