Madalena Caldeira, head of Employment, explains and analyses the legal implications of the so-called \u2018ghost contracts\u2019, a situation in which “documents are presented to Social Security attesting to an employment relationship that does not exist and is therefore false”, in an ECO article.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

According to the lawyer, it can be questioned whether “maintaining an employment relationship that did not exist and in the context of which contributions were made that will benefit workers in terms of social benefits and retirement, when in reality they are unemployed, is not also an intention to defraud the law”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
