With the challenges associated with the growing protectionism of the US Administration, it is increasingly expected that the European Union and its member states will intensify their use of the law as a foreign policy \u2018weapon\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joaquim Caimoto Duarte points out that \u2018in recent years, EU legislation in general has increased its capacity to react against external trade actions\u2019, and also explains some of the measures that, within the \u2018regulatory arsenal\u2019, the Union could use to confront US protectionism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
