The fight against AI-engineered fraud and anti-competitive behaviour has led to the application of more Competition rules and regulation.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The increase in demand on the Competition teams responds to a clear trend: both the authorities and regulatory production have intensified controls. \u2018Instruments have multiplied: merger control, foreign investment control and control of third country subsidies. There are more and more \u2018controls\u2019 to be considered in the timing of an operation. In addition, the CNMC is more interventionist than ever: it demanded remedies or opened a second phase in 14% of operations in 2024, and has already opened two second phases in 2025,\u2019 explains \u00cd\u00f1igo Igartua.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
