Gómez-Acebo & Pombo among the best pro bono projects according to the Expansión awards

Gómez-Acebo & Pombo’s social commitment is evident in the tenth edition of the Expansión Jurídico Awards, which recognise some of the most significant pro bono initiatives in the Spanish legal sector.

In collaboration with CESIDA, a multidisciplinary team from the Firm comprising Mónica Matas, Yago Fernández, Miguel Ángel García Otero, associate and senior associates from the Public Law and Regulated Sectors area, achieved a groundbreaking ruling that overturned a decision by the DGT (Spanish Traffic Authority) that unjustifiably restricted the renewal of a driving licence for a person with HIV.

This initiative, which promotes non-discrimination and equal treatment, reinforces the transformative role of law and the social involvement of the legal profession.
