The Gómez-Acebo & Pombo – ICADE Sustainability Chair: Law and Legal Practice is pleased to invite you to a conference dedicated to the new extended producer responsibility (EPR) regime for pharmaceutical and cosmetic products, designed to finance tertiary treatment processes that remove micropollutants in wastewater treatment plants, as provided for in Directive (EU) 2024/3019.
The session will be presented by a representative of the ICADE-GA_P Chair, together with Pedro Poveda. During the event, we will analyze the main regulatory challenges posed by the implementation of this new EPR regime in the water sector, as well as the legal options for configuring the EPR management model and the solutions for defining the collective or individual EPR systems that responsible producers must establish to meet their new obligations, advancing the debate on the delineation of the system’s economic costs.
