José Luis is a member of the Advisory Counsel at Gómez-Acebo & Pombo.

He specialises in administrative, civil and agro-food law.

He holds a degree in Law from the University of Malaga (Spain), a doctorate in Law from the Complutense University of Madrid (Spain) and a diploma in English Public Administration from the Royal Institute of Public Administration, London (UK).

He is a member of the Higher Corps of State Civil Administrators (where he held posts in the ministries of Public Administrations, Justice, the Interior and Tourism – TURESPAÑA – from 1987 to 1993) and is currently on leave of absence. He belongs to the Legal Corps for the State Council (since 1993). He is an Associate member of the Spanish Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation.

José Luis has been repeatedly recognised as a Food Law expert in the prestigious Legal500 directory.

Currently, he is the Director of the specialisation course on agro- food law at the Law School at the Complutense University of Madrid. He has served as a lecturer at various prestigious universities in Madrid and Málaga. He is the author of the book “Derecho Agroalimentario”, which has been re-edited annually by the Ministry of Agriculture since 2015 and is available in electronic version. Since 2021 it has been published by the Boletin Oficial del Estado (Official Gazette) as a free and open access e- book.

He has participated as author or co-author in several specialised legal publications.

Bárbara is an Intellectual Property counsel at Gómez-Acebo & Pombo.

She is specialised in all aspects pertaining to e-commerce, consumer rights, data protection, copyright, advertising and new technologies, as well as in franchising contracts.

She has a degree in Law – International Relations and a degree in Political Science from the Comillas Pontifical University (Spain) and has a master’s degree in Intellectual Property Law from the Autonomous University of Madrid (Spain). She has also taken several courses as course in Entertainment Law from the IESE Business School, course on the regulation of online advertising of advertising from AUTOCONTROL (an independent advertising self-regulatory organisation in Spain) and the preparatory course for Data Protection Officer certification from the Spanish Association of Privacy Professionals (APEP).

Bárbara has participated in secondments at Nike European Operations Netherlands and at Discovery Communications Spain & Portugal. She is member of the APEP and the Entertainment Law Association (DENAE).

She has acted as lecturer of several courses on data protection, e-commerce and advertising aimed at clients’ legal affairs and marketing departments and has authored numerous articles on digital law, franchises, data protection and consume for specialised publications as Economist & Jurist, The Franchise Law Review, Dataguidance. Likewise, she is the coauthor of Consumer Reviews published bimonthly in La Ley.

Alicia is a counsel of Corporate and M&A at Gómez- Acebo & Pombo.

She has extensive experience in real estate transactions, including the acquisition and divestment of a wide range of assets (shopping centres, offices, hotels, logistics and industrial assets, residential properties and land under development). She also specialises in real estate contracting, covering construction contracts, leases, surface rights and forward funding, among others.

She advises on corporate and structured finance transactions, including acquisition financing, asset financing (mainly real estate and photovoltaic projects) and debt restructuring processes.

She holds a degree in Law from the University Cardenal Herrera-CEU San Pablo in Valencia (Spain) and a master´s degree in Legal Practice Law from the IE University (Spain) and an International Executive MBA – Programme Manager from the School of Management in Leuven (Belgium).

Alicia has contributed as an author and co-author to various specialist legal publications and has been a speaker at training sessions on real estate law and restructuring plans.
