Ignacio Gómez-Acebo Duque de Estrada (1932-2011) was honorary chairman of the Firm until his death.
A law graduate from the Complutense University of Madrid and the University of Salamanca, he began his professional career working at the small industrial property agency Clarke, Modet & Co.
Fernando Pombo (1943-2011), born in Santander and President of the Firm until his death.
He studied Philosophy and Law at the Universities of Oviedo and Complutense de Madrid (1965) and obtained his doctorate in Geneva and at the Max Planck Institute in Munich.
Ignacio Gómez-Acebo Duque de Estrada (1932-2011) was honorary chairman of the Firm until his death.
A law graduate from the Complutense University of Madrid and the University of Salamanca, he began his professional career working at the small industrial property agency Clarke, Modet & Co.
He was a promoter of the restructuring and modernization of Spanish business and encouraged the installation of large multinationals in Spain. He also founded the Universidad San Pablo, was a trustee of the Permanent Commission of the National Library and Chairman of the European Advisory Committee of the New York Stock Exchange.
Throughout his extensive professional career, he was awarded the Grand Cross of Civil Merit, was an Officer of the Order of the British Empire and a Knight of the Order of the Lion of Finland.

From a very young age he was actively involved in the International Bar Association (IBA). After more than 25 years in executive positions within the organization, he was appointed President (2007-2008).
He received the Grand Cross of the Order of San Raimundo de Peñafort (2012), the Grand Cross for Merit in Service to the Legal Profession (2005), the Medal of Honor of the Bar Association of Madrid (2008) and Barcelona (2009), among many other awards for his professional career and his work in the promotion of the legal profession in the international arena.
