Guillermo Guerra
Guillermo is a partner of Corporate and M&A, co-head of Capital Markets and Head of Corporate Governance at Gómez-Acebo & Pombo.
He specialises in corporate governance, securities markets (IPOs, capital increases, takeover bids) and mergers and acquisitions. He has experience as secretary of the board of directors of listed companies, Ibex-35 and credit institutions. He has also participated in the implementation of sustainability programmes for companies and investment funds, as well as in the issuance of green bonds.
He is a Professor of Commercial Law at the Rey Juan Carlos University of Madrid. He holds a Law degree (Special Group of the Faculty of Law) from the Complutense University of Madrid. He holds a PhD in Law from the Rey Juan Carlos University of Madrid, Extraordinary Doctorate Award from the Department of Private Law. He was Visiting Researcher and Visiting Scholar at Harvard Law School and Ricercatore Straniero at the University of Bologna.
Guillermo has been recognised in the prestigious legal directories Chambers & Partners and Legal 500 as one of the leading practitioners in the areas of Corporate/M&A and Capital Markets: Debt and Equity.
He is the author of several books and numerous articles in legal journals and collective works on corporate governance, company law and securities market law. He is also a lecturer at various Spanish and foreign universities (Harvard University, University of William & Mary -USA-, University of Paris -France-).
