The HR Director of Gómez-Acebo & Pombo emphasises that young lawyers are no longer looking just for a good career, but also for an environment with purpose, a collaborative culture, and a healthy work-life balance.

The report Universities and Law Firms, prepared by El Confidencial with data from 28 major firms, provides an accurate overview of the universities that supply the legal sector. Comillas-Icade leads in undergraduate training, while at master’s level Carlos III, Esade, and IE stand out.

Cristina Santos, representing Gómez-Acebo & Pombo, highlights that new generations value professional development but also the environment in which they work. Factors such as continuous training, accessible leadership, and technology applied to law are now decisive.

She also points out the role of artificial intelligence as an opportunity to free up time and enhance the lawyer’s more strategic skills. To attract talent, she concludes, firms must offer much more than a career: they need to project trust, approachability, and a genuine growth model.
