GA_P advises Banco Sabadell on the financing of Barkibu

Gómez-Acebo & Pombo has advised Banco Sabadell on the €5m venture debt financing of Barkibu, Spain’s leading pet insurance company.

The transaction was carried out through SABADELL group entities VENTURE CAPITAL and VENTURE DEBT SVC and was co-financed by the EIB (European Investment Bank).

The pet insurance start-up, which so far only operates in Spain and Germany, hopes with this new funding to expand its business to the international market.

The GA_P team that advised on the transaction was formed by Álex Pujol, María Meseguer and José Manuel Sánchez, partner and associates of the Commercial team of the Barcelona office.
