Gómez-Acebo & Pombo has advised Helia Renovables II, F.C.R. and Plenium Partners on the sale of a portfolio of 53 operational photovoltaic assets, with a combined capacity of 260 MW, to Canadian investor La Caisse (CDPQ), through its subsidiary Velto Renewables, for approximately €1.1bn.

This transaction strengthens La Caisse’s (CDPQ) strategy of consolidating its presence in Spain’s renewable energy sector and marks another milestone in the commitment of both companies to the development of sustainable energy infrastructure, while also contributing to the energy transition and the country’s decarbonisation targets.

The GA_P team was led by Verónica Romaní (partner), alongside Diego Martínez Colino and Laura Rey (associates) from the Energy team. Additional support was provided by, among others, Juan Pérez, Andrea González-Novo, Juan Reynolds and Carla Logroño from the Banking & Finance team; Roberto Bustamante, Manuel Ramos, Paula García and Álvaro Obregón from the Public & Regulated Sectors team; Carmen García, María García and Jacobo Alapont from the Real Estate team; and Rodrigo García and Nicolás Otero de Navascués from the Corporate team.
