Gómez-Acebo & Pombo strengthens its Patents practice with the incorporation of Rais Amils
Gómez-Acebo & Pombo (GA_P) hires Rais Amils Arnal as a Intellectual Property and Technology department’s partner for the Barcelona office. Her incorporation is part of the department’s strategic growth plan and will strengthen the Patents team that she will lead, following the incorporation of Nuria Ribera and Silvia Muñoz.
Rais Amils has more than 20 years of experience and is specialised in litigation related to industrial and intellectual property, mainly in the defence of patents of companies in the pharmaceutical sector. She also has extensive experience in trademark, design, unfair competition and competition law disputes. Her in-depth specialisation, together with a cross-cutting vision and solid knowledge of the European regulatory framework, have established her as a leading lawyer in this area.
In addition, she has been highlighted in different legal directories such as: Legal500 in the Patents category and in Healthcare & Lifescience; IP Stars Euromoney; Leaders League: ‘Health & Pharmaceutical Industry’, ‘Patent Litigation’ and ‘Trademark litigation’; and by IAM Patent 1000: Litigation.
Graduate in Law from Pompeu Fabra University with an Extraordinary recognition, master in European Law from the College of Europe and postgraduated in Advanced Studies from the Central University of Barcelona, Rais is vice-president of the Competition and Industrial Property Law Section of the Barcelona Bar Association, and a lecturer at ISDE and ICAB. She has been a speaker at various industry forums such as CEFI and AIPPI and has contributed to various publications in specialised journals.
