El Confidencial, in today’s article, reports the statements of Ignacio del Fraile, Employment Partner at Gómez-Acebo & Pombo, on the discontent among Madrid companies about the new collective agreement for offices and firms in Madrid, which was approved in mid-August.

The text introduces many changes, including the regulation of teleworking. In the articles, the agreement establishes the restrictions that organisations can place on remote models. Specifically, it sets a limit of 60% of teleworking per month, prohibiting formulas that exceed this percentage.

Ignacio del Fraile points out that “there has been a major uproar over this issue as many organisations have received the modification with surprise because it limits flexibility, which is, after all, the spirit of teleworking”, “the most common doubt that companies express is whether this restriction can be circumvented if the teleworking model has been agreed with the employee or the workers’ legal representatives”, “the agreement is clear, no, but it is difficult for the inspectorate to sanction in this type of case”.
