Joaquim Caimoto Duarte elected Chairman of the Board of ICC Portugal’s Competition Commission | Jornal Económico
Joaquim Caimoto Duarte, Competition and EU Law of counsel, has been elected Chairman of the Board of ICC Portugal’s Competition Commission for the 2025-2026 biennium.
ICC Portugal, the Portuguese branch of the International Chamber of Commerce, is a business association that brings together the Portuguese members of the world’s largest business organisation, with 45 million members from all sectors and sizes in more than 100 countries.
In turn, the ICC Portugal Competition Commission is a forum for discussion and promotion of competition law principles, made up of representatives of companies and law firms practicing in this area, and has gained increasing importance in Portugal’s business and legal communities in recent years. It also promotes the proper application of national and European Union laws on the matters in question, seeking constant dialogue with the Competition Authority, the courts, the Portuguese Parliament, and other bodies.
It was the first time in the Commission’s history that a new Board of Directors was appointed through an election by its members, a vote that was well attended.
