Nuno de Oliveira Garcia on referring tax cases to arbitration | Jornal de Negócios
12 of October, 2023
In this edition of the Jornal de Negócios, Nuno de Oliveira Garcia, tax partner at Gómez-Acebo & Pombo, comments on the referral of tax cases to arbitration.
Nuno de Oliveira Garcia states that “The problem lies in the near absence of administrative screening, which pushes even the most insignificant tax dispute into the courts”.
He also states that “[…] In this respect, it is important to be very clear: never before have we had such good tax justice. We have more judges, better prepared and advised judges, better facilities and better computerisation. So it’s no surprise that we have better and more well-founded decisions.”
