Almudena Larrañaga
Almudena is a partner of Litigation and Arbitration at Gómez-Acebo & Pombo.
In 1998, after almost two years of experience in international law firms, she joined the Legal Services of Repsol Butano, assuming legal advice and judicial assignments for Repsol Butano.
In 2005, she was appointed Head of Upstream Legal Services, of the Repsol YPF in Europe and North Africa, participating in the legal assistance of the Group’s businesses in that area, advising on the acquisition of assets and the implementation and development of Oil and Gas projects mainly in Europe and North Africa but also throughout the US, being appointed in 2007 Head of Upstream and LNG Legal Services for Europe and North Africa.
During 2013 and 2014, she was Alternate Director of the Board of Directors of the Argentine multinational YPF at the proposal of private shareholders.
She is the author of various publications on matters such as procedural law and arbitration, and civil law.
She has been involved in operations and/or litigious procedures related to energy and infrastructure assets in Spain, Algeria, Libya, Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Togo, Oman, Canada, India, Argentina, Chile, Portugal, and the United States. having intervened as a lawyer in 17 international and 11 national arbitrations.
She is a professor in the master of Public Law at the Cajasol Institute (hydrocarbon Law) and in the master of Construction Law at ICAM.
