Jesús Muñoz-Delgado

Jesús is a partner of Intellectual Property at Gómez-Acebo & Pombo.

He specialises in litigation and has conducted and taken part in around four hundred legal proceedings representing national and international companies and public entities in litigation related to the protection, exercise and cancellation of all types of industrial property rights as well as in unfair competition matters, in the resolution of disputes related to contracts for the exploitation of industrial property rights and regulatory aspects related to the commercialization of different intangible assets, in all types of commercial and industrial sectors.

His experience includes proceedings before the Spanish Commercial and Administrative Courts in all instances, the Trademark and Design Courts of the European Union in Alicante, the General Court of the European Union, the Spanish Constitutional Court and the European Court of Human Rights. And also before the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office, the European Intellectual Property Office, the Spanish and Community Plant Variety Offices, the Advertising Self-Control Association, the WIPO Mediation and Arbitration Center and other arbitration tribunals.

Jesús provides strategic advice on the feasibility of protecting intangible assets and the non-infringing exploitation of other people’s industrial property rights, as well as on the review of rights portfolios.

He advises on food design, geographical indications of source, regulatory aspects, protection and exploitation of plant variety rights.

He holds a law degree from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and a master’s degree in Corporate Legal Consultancy from the IE University.

He has given lectures at various conferences and seminars organized by the Madrid Bar Association, the Judicial School of the General Council of the Judiciary, The Spanish Institute for International Research, the CEU San Pablo University, the Faculty of Law of the University of Castilla-La Mancha and the Faculty of Law of the University of Navarra, among other organizations.

Jesús is recognised by the prestigious legal directories such as Chambers & Partners, Legal 500, Intellectual Property Review, IAM Patents, World Trademark Review among others, as one of the leading professionals in Intellectual Property, Patents & Trade Marks.

He is the author of several articles and chapters in Spanish and foreign publications on substantive and procedural aspects of intellectual property and unfair competition.
