Luis López
Luis is a partner of Litigation and Arbitration at Gómez-Acebo & Pombo.
He has extensive experience in court proceedings and and arbitration. In particular, he advises clients on civil and commercial litigation regarding, among others, banking, construction, energy, leasing, corporate law, unfair competition, agency and distribution agreements, as well as international commodity trade.
Furthermore, Luis has significant experience in domestic and international commercial and investment arbitration, both institutional and ad hoc. At an international level, he has participated in arbitrations before the Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC) or the International Arbitration Centre of Madrid-Ibero-American Centre of Arbitration (CIAM-CIAR). In Spain, Luis has participated in arbitrations before various institutions such as the Arbitration Court of the Madrid Chamber of Commerce (CAM), the Spanish Court of Arbitration (CEA) and the Civil and Commercial Court of Arbitration (CIMA). He also has experience in proceedings for the annulment, recognition and enforcement of arbitral awards.
Between January and October 2023, Luis completed a secondment in the Miami office of Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan.
Luis has participated as an author in several specialised legal publications and collaborates as a lecturer in several prestigious institutions such as the University of Navarra (UNAV), the Madrid Bar Association (ICAM) or the Instituto de Empresa (IE).
He has been recognised by Iberian Lawyer as Lawyer of the Year Under40 in Litigation.
