Rafael Murillo
Rafael is the coordinating partner of the Litigation and Arbitration practice at Gómez-Acebo & Pombo.
He has more than 30 years of experience leading litigation and arbitration practices in Spain, with a highly specialized focus on commercial litigation, domestic and international arbitration, and regulatory matters. In the judicial sphere, he advises clients on complex disputes related to contracts, liability for defective products, refinancings, out-of-court restructurings and insolvencies, as well as administrative proceedings before Spanish authorities.
Rafael regularly advises major financial institutions and investment banks on both contentious and non-contentious matters, as well as leading national and international companies in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, media, energy, and infrastructure. He is a member of the firm’s financial institutions disputes group.
Throughout his career, Rafael has accumulated nearly thirty years of experience, most of it at a major international law firm where he was a partner for more than twenty years and headed the litigation and arbitration practice in Spain.
He is regarded as one of the most reputable litigation professionals in Spain and has been recognized by the leading international legal directories, particularly for his involvement in significant multi-jurisdictional proceedings and international arbitrations.
