GA_P advises gategroup on the acquisition of sole control of Cateringpor

Gómez-Acebo & Pombo advised gategroup on the acquisition of sole control of Cateringpor, an airline catering company headquartered in Lisbon.

gategroup (gategroup Holding AG and its affiliates) is a global provider of airline catering, retail-on-board and hospitality products and services. Until completion of the transaction, Cateringpor was owned by Gate Gourmet Switzerland Holding GmbH and TAP Air Portugal, the latter being its majority shareholder.

The transaction took place as part of a public tender process for the sale of a majority stake in Cateringpor, which also involved defining the contractual terms under which the company will provide catering services to TAP. This divestment forms part of the commitments undertaken in the TAP restructuring plan approved by the European Commission in 2021.
