Borja González Elejabarrieta writes in El Mundo on the possible changes in labour law and the impact on the negotiation of company collective bargaining agreements.
“The succession of announcements by the government on possible changes in labour law has a direct impact on the negotiation of collective bargaining agreements and/or company agreements. For example, most of the agreements provide for a working week longer than 37.5 hours. This affects one of the fundamental subjects of negotiation in an agreement, which could alter the balance of the negotiations and mean that the consensus reached could become ineffective in the short term and have to be revised”.
