GA_P appoints Carlos de la Torre as Employment partner
Gómez-Acebo & Pombo appoints Carlos de la Torre as partner of Employment in the Madrid office.
The professional of Baker & McKenzie, Carlos de la Torre, has more than thirty years of experience and legal knowledge in the field of employment law in Spain and the United Kingdom. He specializes in advising national and international companies, with special emphasis on corporate restructuring and collective dismissals, labor inspections, collective bargaining, substantial modifications, labor audits or subrogation of employees. He is particularly qualified in occupational accidents and in the proper management of occupational risk prevention, as well as in relation to the obligations of companies regarding social security contributions. Carlos is also a Labor and Social Security Inspector (on leave of absence), has been Councillor for Development at the Spanish Embassy in London and Spanish representative in IMO.
With the appointment of Carlos, Gómez-Acebo & Pombo’s Employment team will be integrated by two partners, both located in the Madrid office, and more than 20 lawyers between the offices in Madrid, Valencia, Barcelona, and Bilbao. Gómez-Acebo & Pombo is the Spanish member firm of the Employment Law Alliance, the world’s largest association of employment lawyers, with a presence in more than 150 countries.
Ignacio del Fraile, coordinating partner of the Employment Area says: “The incorporation of Carlos will be an important boost for the team. We are sure that a professional with Carlos’ experience will help us to further improve our positioning and business”. Carlos comments: “I am very excited to join a Firm of the level of Gómez-Acebo & Pombo. I am looking forward to starting this project and helping the Firm and the labor team to keep growing”.
