Ignacio del Fraile on the gap between job creation and permanent seasonal contracts | El Economista

In his article regarding “phantom” permanent contracts, El Economista includes the statements made by Ignacio del Fraile, partner in Gómez-Acebo & Pombo’s Employment law team.
“Companies do not feel comfortable with the figure of the permanent contract and doubts are growing around this figure, which is used as a wild card between various positions, which is a great concern for the Ministry of Labour to control its use” states Ignacio.
Many companies are slowing down their hiring decisions in the current scenario of economic uncertainty, aggravated by the rigidity introduced by the new regulation. The unquestionable record of permanent contracts is supported by an upturn in the lowest quality modalities in terms of salary and stability, such as discontinuous permanent contracts. Ordinary full-time permanent contracts have fallen by 30 points with respect to the 2019 data.
