Nuno de Oliveira Garcia, tax partner at Gómez Acebo & Pombo Portugal, comments on the fact that the government wants to curb the use of law firms in this Advocatus article.

The partner comments that he ‘doesn’t agree with the association behind the announcement of the measure which, from the outset, is “excessively generic”.

He also adds that ‘If it’s the state that hires these external services, it’s up to the state to decide how to follow them and put them into practice, because that’s what consultancy is, it only advises, it doesn’t materialise…
