Madalena Caldeira

Madalena is a partner and the head of Employment at the Lisbon office of Gómez-Acebo & Pombo.
Madalena Caldeira supervises and coordinates the provision of labour law advice to national and international companies, particularly assisting in the management of negotiations and termination of employment agreements, in collective dismissal and termination processes, in advising and representing clients in the review and negotiation of collective regulation instruments, and in drafting legal opinions and memoranda. She also has extensive experience in labour mobility processes, such as transfers of places of work and establishment, matters related to social security and taxation of labour income.
She has been particularly involved in matters related to acquisitions, always from a human resources perspective – both in carrying out due diligence processes and in assisting in hiring, transfer of establishment and related matters – as well as in pre-litigation and labour litigation.
The advice she provides is transversal to the various sectors of activity, however, it has a special focus on the aeronautics, transport, communications, hotel and retail industries, having participated in important national restructuring and privatisation processes.
Madalena is recognised in Portugal by several prestigious legal directories such as Legal 500, Best Lawyers, Leaders League and Iberian Lawyer.
