    Recent Developments in Merger Control in the EU

    Gómez-Acebo & Pombo is pleased to invite you to the session “Recent Developments in Merger Control in the EU.”

    Merger control in the European Union is undergoing a period of transformation, shaped by new tools, landmark rulings, and key decisions from the EU Courts and the European Commission. This webinar offers an up-to-date and practical overview of the main changes currently redefining the assessment of mergers and acquisitions within the EU.

    During the session, we will examine the most relevant decisions by the Commission, with particular focus on the digital and pharmaceutical sectors. We will also address the impact of the Court of Justice of the EU’s judgment in the Illumina/Grail case, the Foreign Subsidies Regulation (FSR), and the Digital Markets Act (DMA) as new instruments of control. In addition, we will discuss the Commission’s Communication on the definition of the relevant market and the ongoing consultation on the guidelines for horizontal and non-horizontal mergers.
