Gómez-Acebo & Pombo has signed Ana Martínez-Pina, Ex-Vice-Chair of the Spanish National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), as Of Counsel to head the Regulatory Finance team of the firm.
Prior to being appointed Vice-Chair of the CNMV in 2016, during which she chaired, among other committees, the Financial Information Committee of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) as well as its Sustainability Committee, Ana was Chair of the Institute of Accounting and Account Auditing (ICAC) and Deputy General Director of Accounting Techniques and Standardisation of the same organisation.
Ana has a law degree from the University of Barcelona and is a State Insurance Inspector.
After four years at the regulatory body, Ana joins Gómez-Acebo & Pombo to lead and reinforce the Regulatory Finance team, with the limits established by the rules on conflicts of interest of the Spanish Securities Market Act.
Miguel Lamo de Espinosa, managing partner of the area, noted that “the inclusion of a professional with the technical knowledge Ana has, as well as her experience at such important institutions really strengthens our Regulatory Finance team.” Ana commented “I am very thankful and excited to join a firm with the stature of Gómez-Acebo & Pombo. I am very eager to begin this project and to help the firm keep growing.”
