GA_P advises on Fira 2000’s syndicated financing for the expansion of Fira Barcelona
Gómez-Acebo & Pombo has advised on a €220m syndicated financing granted to Fira 2000 to fund part of the expansion and redevelopment project of Fira Barcelona.
The financing has been provided by a pool of lenders comprising BBVA, Banc Sabadell, CaixaBank, Banco Santander and the Institut Català de Finances (ICF), and is backed by a guarantee from the Government of Catalonia. The facility will enable, on the one hand, the first phase of the refurbishment of the Montjuïc venue (up to €125m) and, on the other, the completion of the development of the new “Hall Zero” pavilion at the Gran Via venue (up to €95m), both key elements within the overall investment plan aimed at strengthening Fira de Barcelona’s international positioning.
The GA_P team was composed of Ferran Foix, Daniel Marín and Irene Fernández Puyol, partners in the Banking and Finance, Corporate/M&A, and Public Law & Regulated Sectors practice areas, respectively, and Alejandro Toste, associate in the Banking and Finance team.
