GA_P advises Oryzon on a capital increase and a financing agreement with COFIDES
Gómez-Acebo & Pombo has advised Oryzon Genomics, a biopharmaceutical company focused on epigenetics-based therapies, on a strategic transaction aimed at strengthening its financial position and accelerating the development of its clinical programmes.
The transaction involved a capital increase through the issuance of 4,444,445 new ordinary shares, enabling the company to raise €12 million. The subscription price was set at €2.70 per share.
The proceeds will be used to strengthen Oryzon’s balance sheet and accelerate the development of its acute myeloid leukaemia programme, one of the company’s key research initiatives.
In addition, Gómez-Acebo & Pombo advised Oryzon on entering into an agreement with COFIDES under which the Social Impact Fund (FIS), managed by COFIDES, has committed to invest up to €25 million in future capital increases of the company. The investment is intended to support Oryzon’s mental health programmes and remains subject to the fulfilment of certain conditions.
These transactions further strengthen Oryzon’s financial capacity to advance its research and development activities in high-impact therapeutic areas.
