Madalena Caldeira reflects on the remote working regime | ECO

Of counsel and head of Employment, Madalena Caldeira, stresses that the regime needs to be changed, particularly with regard to the means of controlling remote working.

In just one year, the number of employment contracts specifically providing for remote working has increased by 30 per cent. According to the minister of Labour, remote working rules will be one of the aspects of the labour law that will be on the table at the Social Dialogue this year. Reflecting on the current regime, Madalena Caldeira says that it “does not allow employers to exercise what is, after all, one of their powers: the power of management”.
